ELI Beamlines is presented in Brussels

JASPERS Networking Platform organised a workshop on “Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI) Pillars – status and way forward” on 5th-6th of May in the European Commission, DG Regional and Urban Policy in Brussels.

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together the main stakeholders from the three ELI-pillar countries for a joint event focused on the current status of the ELI project. It is an opportunity for the different national authorities involved to share experience on various topics related to the monitoring and institutional approach on the projects. For the different ELI pillars it is the occasion to present and exchange information on the progress of the projects, notably on: construction works, procurement, development of research activities, bottlenecks encountered and timeline until end of construction and start of operations. As a key participant in the workshop, the ELI DC have the opportunity to present the roadmap towards the ELI ERIC, including strategies for common open access policies, technology transfer and organisational activities.

It is a first networking meeting, which brings together national authorities (ministries), European Commission (DG Regio and DG Research) and representatives of the international consortium ELI DC from 6 countries (Germany, Italy, UK included).

The Czech pillar – ELI Beamlines is presented by Jan Řídký, the director of the Institute of Physics, and Roman Hvězda, the manager of the ELI Beamlines project.
