In framework of presentations of the ELI Beamlines facility in large European countries, further presentation took place on 12 May 2010. Now the project was presented at the Czech Embassy in Rome and the event was received with great acclaim by the Italian scientists and professional public.
The Czech delegation, led by Vice Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Vlastimil Růžička, consisted of representatives from the Institute of Physics ASCR, headed by Director Jan Řídký.
Giuseppe Pizza, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research of the Italian Republic expressed interest of the Italian side to cooperate within the future ELI Beamlines facility.
ELI project is for Italian scientists nothing new: the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), Polytechnic University of Milan and University of Pisa are members of the international consortium of the ELI Preparatory Phase and are familiar with its continuous development.
Other participants and coorganizers of the event were Dana Huňátová, Coordinator for Research, Development and Education of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Petr Jaroš, the representative of the Czech Embassy in Rome.
