The sixth European Conference on Research Infrastructures, ECRI2010, took place in Barcelona on 23 to 24 March 2010. The ECRI conference was jointly organized by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and the European Commission; the entire event was run under the auspices of the Spanish Presidency of the EU.
600 experts that participated in the Conference focused their presentations and respective thematic sessions on discussing the European strategy for research infrastructures and resolving their management and financial issues. The participants also addressed the relationships and connections between the academia and industry, as well as the development in the field of e-infrastructures. Part of the conference programme was a tour of the ALBA Synchrotron and MareNostrum Supercomputer.
The Czech Republic was represented by the Ministry of Education delegates, Jan Marek, Director of the Department for International Cooperation in Research and Development, and Naďa Witzanyová, the Czech Republic Representative of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) and member of the ESFRI Executive Committee. At the Conference Naďa Witzanyová delivered an oral presentation on Management and Financial Issues of Research Infrastructures.
During the ECRI Poster Session the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania presented an overview of the ELI Multipurpose Facility Project.
