Director General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission Jean-Eric Paquet to ELI Beamlines
Jean-Eric Paquet, the Director General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission, visited the Czech Republic for a day on 25th of October 2018. His program was pretty busy. In the morning he attended the CZEDER 2018 conference. Afterwards, he went to the ELI Beamlines and HiLASE research facilities. At the end of the day, he took part in a roundtable discussion with stakeholders responsible for the policy-making and/or funding of research, technology development and innovation in the Czech Republic. Mr Jean-Eric Paquet presented here the draft of 9th EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe (2021-2027).
At ELI Beamlines, Mr. Paquet was welcomed by Roman Hvězda, the manager of the centre. Mr. Hvězda had a presentation about ELI Beamlines itself and afterwards they visited experimental and laser halls of ELI Beamlines. In the following debate they talked a current status of the Extreme Light Infrastructure implementation phase with the main emphasis put on ELI Beamlines commissioning and preparation of the step 2 ELI-ERIC application on the platform of the ELI Delivery Consortium over.
During the day, Mr. Paquet and his delegation was joined by the Minister of Industry and Trade Marta Nováková and the Deputy Minister for Technologies 4.0 Petr Očko and spent time together in ELI Beamlines and HiLASE facilities.
