As part of “Women’s Day”, the Italian Embassy organized the opening of the “Life as a Scientist” exhibition in the Baroque chapel in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague. This exhibition aimed to pay tribute to women in science and contribute to overcoming prejudices and stereotypes about scientific practice and research.
A special guest was the Minister of Science and Innovation of the Czech Republic, Helena Langšádlová, who also invited Italian institutions to a bilateral meeting, which should strengthen scientific cooperation between Italy and the Czech Republic.
Italian ambassador H.E. Mauro Marsili accepted the invitation with satisfaction and added that there are currently almost a hundred Italian scientists and researchers in the Czech Republic, both men and women, some of whom are at the forefront of the research departments under their responsibility.
Our scientists Anna Cimmino and Anna Tropia, professors of medieval philosophy at Charles University in Prague, also spoke at the event about what it is like to be a scientist dealing with the world of research.
At ELI Beamlines, we believe that the women’s view in science is priceless, so we are glad that we were represented at this event in the form of our colleague Anna Cimmino.
