On the 2nd and 3rd of December, 2015 the International Scientific Committee (ISAC) meeting was held at the ELI Beamlines center in Dolní Břežany.
The main ISAC representatives Wim Leemans (Chairman of ISAC, LBNL Director, BELLA Berkeley USA), Sergei Vladimirovich Bulanov (Japan Atomic Energy Agency, Japan), Janos Hajdu (Uppsala University, Sweden), Roger Falcone (University of California, Berkeley, USA), Mike Dunne (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, USA) and Matthew Zepf (School of Mathematics and Physics – Professor, Centre for Plasma Physics) discussed the key scientific goals and development of the ELI Beamlines facility with the ELI Beamlines scientists from laser and experimental teams which are led by Dr. Bedřich Rus (Scientific Coordinator for Laser Technology) and Dr. Georg Korn (Head of Department of Experimental Programmes).
This meeting was very rewarding because the ISAC members evaluated the scientific progress and strategic goals of ELI Beamlines for the last year and also suggested some next recommendation.
The task of the International Scientific Advisory Committee is to recommend the strategy of implementation of laboratory key systems to achieve technical competency of key activities to meet the objectives of individual research programs; set strategy to gain users and set strategy for the development of user programs.
