ISAC has acknowledged the enormous work that has been done with respect to complete the ELI Beamlines project and steps leading to provide access to various scientific communities – such as material and bio-molecular scientists – from all over the world. ISAC has supported ELI management in prioritizing activities to lead to the successful commissioning of experimental chains based on the kHz L1-Allegra and PW class L3-HALPS lasers focused on plasma physics research and ion acceleration.
The Committee was supplemented by two new members Catherine Le Blanc, LULI Ecole Polytechnique, and Petr Malý, Department of Chemical Physics and Optics, Charles University.
This year’s ISAC meeting was the last for its chairman Wim Leemans (LBLN), who has chaired this prestigious Committee for more than 6 years, and who has provided extraordinary support leading to the successful implementation of the ELI project.
ISAC is an advisory body to the director of the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. ISAC’s main task is to recommend the strategies for implementing key laboratory systems to achieve the technical competency of its activities to meet the objectives of individual research programs and to develop strategies to attract users and develop user programs.
